“I'm bored of my wardrobe.”

I have been feeling a little “blah” about my wardrobe lately.  Call it the weather, post-travel blues, or just me getting old.  When I look at influencers' outfits they look fun, interesting, fresh!  But when I stare in my own closet, I feel sort of “ho hum."

It's very tempting in this state to go to our favorite remedy- shopping!  But that is the WRONG state of mind to start a shopping spree.  Shopping should be to fill gaps, not out of boredom!

So to help us all avoid that trap, I thought I would lay out a few ways to spice up your outfit-building without breaking the bank.  I'm going to be using all my own tips this week on social media- follow me (@luvmystylecoach) if you're interested in seeing what I come up with!

I LOVE color, but in the winter, I get lazy.  Everything becomes black, brown, and denim.  Wearing 2 bright colors in an outfit can make such a HUGE difference in your mood, your presence, and the impression you make!

A statement shoe can really fix a sad-looking outfit, case in point  above.  I love that her statement shoe is a sneaker instead of something more formal- it's the perfect contrast!

Adding a scarf really takes your look to a different level of cool.  I love how this woman has it on her head, coordinated with her clutch and double denim for a very modern boho chic vibe.  Wow.

A belt can really change the shape of a jacket or top, and I never think about adding it on top of a blazer.  Look at how amazing this looks!  SHE looks like someone I want to be friends with.

Layering necklaces and adding jewelry to belts and lapels is such an easy way to take a regular outfit and make it spectacular.  It is an art- but I am willing to try my hand (and neck, fingers, ears, and lapel) at it!

Banish boring outfits

With love,
